Evaluation of course and my own evaluation

In this unit i have enjoyed many projects, the main project that i worked well in and enjoyed fully was the animation unit, this was because it allowed me to be creative and use my initative to work out which idea was a good concept and could be developed further. The animation project also allowed me to work independantly as well as in a team because everyone had to make their own animation it meant helping each other take pictures for their animation. in this project i worked at home aswell to help tp meet deadlines. Personally i believe through out the whole animation unit i used my fully potentional and passion. The unit which i least enjoyed completing was the research on photographers, this was because i like to do more practicle, however i tryed some types of photography that other photographers were into such as Pablo he used to create wprk based around lighting, so i took some intresting shots around lighting to experiance his type of photography, so overall i think i worked well in this unit aswell. Another unit which i found was intresting was the Motion Capture unit, i found this very intresting because it taught me alot about all these new latest computer games that i play, it taught me how they are made and how much money goes into making them, i also conducted exstensive research into the finacial side of Motion capture, how expensive the equpiments is Etc

If i was to do this course again, i would definatly research into the topics in more depth, and i would aim for a distinction, by going into detail it will enhance my knowledge further into the topic, next i would also work much more at home, this will allow me to meet deadlines. Finally i would do projects in the steps of Research, Ideas, Select idea, then Develop, this way i will have the documentation to show i have thought the process through. 

Overall i think i have worked well on this course, the only few factors that have let me down throughout this course is attendance and meeting deadlines due to the fact that i have missed many sessions, the reason i have failed to attend was i sadley had a death in the family, however considering cirumstances i genuinly believe that i have done well to complete all outstanding work, if i was to do the course again i would make sure that i attend all the sessions and complete work by all the given deadlines. 

My Work Inspired by Picasso...

This is my own shoot that i conducted inspired by Picasso. I did this shoot at Shobnall Park roughly about 10PM, i used a Nikon D5100 and i increased the shutter speed to 10 seconds, the technique is to create pieces like this is to have the camera on a tripod, increase the shutter speed and start to shoot, the trick is to keep the camera still as possible because if the camera is to move even slightly you will get images such as the second image. The best image that i have taken on this shoot is the image that i had taken above a dual carriage way flyover, to get an image like this you have got hope that there is a fair amount of traffic as this way you will get a decent lighten up photo. 

Another style of photography i tried was to write text with the shutter speed increased, to do this i set the camera up to shutter speed 8, this gave me 8 seconds to write my name until the shutter would close, after i set the camera up i got my friend to press the button while i used my flash light on my phone to write my name, i had many attempts to create a non wiggly name. the best on is the one that is above this text.

Pablo's Light Drawings

These are some of Pablo's work, as you can see his light photography is very precise and his work is fairly accurate, my favourite piece of work is the one above this text, it looks very exciting and bold, it looks more of a catherine wheel, i really admire Picasso's work as it is unique to other photographers, i would love to create work similar to Pablo!

Pablo Picasso

Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso known as Pablo Picasso was born October 1881, was was a mainly an artist who also had a fine eye to his photography, in 1949 Pablo started to construct images of drawings using light as his pencil. By moving the light source, the light can be used to selectively illuminate parts of the subject or to "paint" a picture by shining it directly into the camera lens. Light painting requires a slow shutter speed, usually a second or more. Light painting can take on the characteristics of a quick pencil sketch. In 1949 Pablo Picasso was visited by Gjon Mili, known photographer and lighting innovator, who introduced him to some of his photographs of ice skaters with lights attached to their skates. Immediately Picasso started making images in the air with a small flashlight in a dark room. This series of photos became known as Picasso's "light drawings." Of these photos, the most celebrated and famous is known as "Picasso draws a centaur in the air

As you can see from Baileys work he has reputation for working with black and white portrait shots, Most of these modelling shots are from when David worked in the British Vogue, as you can see his use of sharp lighting lit up the faces of the models and made them really stand out of the portrait. Most of Baileys portrait work is using female models.

David Bailey

David Bailey is a English Photographer who was born in January 1938, his intrest in photography grew as he developed his love for natural history. In 1960, David Bailey began photographing for British Vogue, and his fashion work and celebrity portraiture, known for stark backgrounds and dramatic lighting effects, transformed British fashion and celebrity photography. His work reflects the 1960s British cultural trend of breaking down antiquated and rigid class barriers by injecting a 'punk' look into both clothing and artistic products.Bailey has also taken a keen interest in art over the years. An exhibition of his paintings and mixed media works was held at London's Scream, opening in October 2011. It presents portraits and paintings inspired by his childhood, influences, inspiration, fears and desires.
